EqualLogic arrays are furnished with a pair of controllers, which offer redundancy and load-balancing capabilities. These controllers are equipped with one or more data Ethernet interfaces for iSCSI traffic, in addition to a dedicated management interface. Typically, an array will possess 2 or more iSCSI Ethernet interfaces and one management interface. Arrays falling under the PS XX00 model are accompanied by Gigabit Ethernet ports, while those falling under the PS XX10 model are equipped with 10 Gigabit Ethernet ports for iSCSI traffic, as well as a 10 Mbit/s / 100 Mbit/s management port. Depending on the model, the interfaces may be copper-based Gigabit Ethernet, 10GBASE-T, or fiber-optic interfaces utilizing small form-factor pluggable transceivers. Controllers can be easily distinguished by their distinct faceplate profile and color.
